2025 · Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience
A 2025 meta-analysis by Li et al. of 8 studies, covering 327 older adults with an average age of about 71, found that Nordic Walking significantly improved executive function — the planning and decision-making side of thinking.
The effect was larger in older adults with health conditions and grew with longer programmes. The study found no significant effect on memory or attention.
